comcast dvr

I got a dvr from Comcast. It's great I don't have to watch commercials anymore and I never miss a program because its programmed to record my favorite programs.

The model is Motorola dch3416. I had a problem with it which caused me to return the first one I got. BTW You can pick them up from the local Comcast office. We have one here in Exeter on Epping road. It looks like my bill went up from 137 to 151. Seems higher than they quoted me. Anyways back to the problem. The remote would work intermittently and I couldn't figure out why so as I was preparing for the second unit to be sent back and I decided I should bring a small tv with me to check out the units at the Comcast office. So I hooked it up and it worked. Weird. So I put it back where it is permanently on the bookshelf. After playing around for a while I found that the remote sensor was "seeing" the plasma tv mounted above the fireplace. So I put a sticky note on the dvr so the line of site from the tv to the dvr was blocked. Now it works fine. I guess the plasma tv is giving off IR pulses that confuse the dvr. The tv and dvr are at right angles to each other. The plasma is over the fireplace and the dvr is on the side in a built in bookshelf.

So the idea is everybody(companies) is given an allowed amount of co2 to emit(cap). They then trade for move to emit or trade because they produce less than their quota. So I want to have a cap and than I can make money by trading the near zero amount of co2 that I emit.

1. If he is going to do some big projects to stimulate the economy. He should so something that replaces oil. Wind turbine farms, thermal solar energy farm, cross country power transmission lines.

2. If he is going to give money to gm/ford then he should make sure it is used to make cars that get over 50 mpg.

3. He should cut spending. After all it was one of his campaign promises. But he should not do it while the economy is struggling. Basically government spending is one way the government gets us out of a recession.

Just read an article about dean kamen and he has made a stirling powered electric hybrid. This was one of my ideas!! stirling powered car

went kayaking at north beach

I went kayaking at north beach hampton on friday. The beach with the seawall. This is the beach where surfers go. Not much in the way of waves. There were no surfers because it was high tide. There is a 30 foot sailboat on the beach. Some idiot tried to anchor his boat in the ocean. There is a hole in the hull and apparently he doesn't have enough money to get it towed. I got hit by one wave when I got too close to shore. That was fun!

how to pay the 700 billion

Since the stock market was directly responsible for the current financial crisis. Why don't we impose a 5% sales tax on every stock trade. I think that would raise 700 billion pretty quickly. If we just pay it then every tax payer whether earning money with labor or making money by gambling in the stock market has to pay. I personally think that the people involved in the stock market should be taxed for this "mistake".

The current housing slow down is no worse than the last 2. The difference is that banks have loaned money that they didn't have. The used these unregulated "credit default swap" 's to theoretically guarantee that they would have money if somebody defaulted. If it was a regular insurance company they would have been forced to have the money in reserve. Instead these funds were unregulated and dishonest people traded these hedge funds knowing they wouldn't have the money if things failed.

So basically yes americans have once again overextended themselves and defaulted on some mortgages. This is not new. We do this in well predicted cycles. So we (the working little people) share the blame for starting this down turn. But the big wigs(people who earn money by gambling on the stock market) have made this the 700 billion "crisis" it is.

If we could make everybody who made a profit on these hedge funds(and some made 40% return per year) should be the ones who have to give back the profits to bail out the banks. But everybody shakes there head at that point and says that will never happen. So we have sales taxes for material goods. Why not a sales tax for gambling in the stock market. The stock trader who buys a company's stock for the long term because he thinks the company makes a good product will only pay this tax once when he sells it. The day traders will be pissed off and I think thats probably good for the market. Add a little stability to something that is already to volatile.

Well what do you think?
Add a comment.

biodiesel from sprague energy in portsmouth nh

on sat. 9/20 my wife and I got up at 3:00am to drive to a craft fair. It was 33F overnight and about a mile from home with 100% biodiesel in the tank the engine died. We pushed it to a gas station and spent the next 3 hours putting in 4 gal of diesel. 3 - 6oz bottles of store brand of diesel fuel anti-gel. Also about 10oz. of psdfs(power service diesel fuel supplement). I found that the best technique was to take out the c-ring that held the return line to the fuel filter. I have a vw jetta 2003. When I removed the hose there was definite vacuum. The filter was visually dry of fuel. I then poured in the store brand of anti-gel. The engine would then run at idle for about 5-10 minutes. After about doing this 5 times the engine just kept running. I hope I didn't damage the starter motor or the battery with excessive cranking. Also the fuel injector pump would make a squeaking sound when it was sucking hard.

Lesson learned.

I had previously found that my biodiesel is solid at 40deg F. Since the fuel filter clogging I have found it solid at 45 deg F. What kind of biodiesel gells at 45F or higher?
