I went to a jewelry show with my wife saturday 6/21 and I got to kayak for an hour in Beverly ma. I found a free put-in in Beverly. Just before crossing the bridge into Salem going south on Cabot or 1a turn left on water street go about 1000 feet down water street until you get to the end. There is a paved ramp running down the beach into the water. Posted by bob davis
Tons of boats are moored here. I saw many people just sitting on there boats sunning, reading the paper, etc. with out leaving the mooring.
I kayaked across the bay (mooring field) into salem harbor. Salem harbor is further out in the bay and around a point. I kayaked into salem harbor but didnt have to time to explore it fully. I went by the electric power plant with big smoke stacks and a huge pile of coal sitting next to it.
It looks like there is a lot of islands surrounding the entrance to Salem/Beverly bay. I didn't get a chance to go to any of them. Another time. It looks like Baker is. is 4.5 miles from the put-in.
Here is a map

Went kayaking in hampton harbor today and it was very foggy. Gps and compass and whistle. When I got out to buoy 4 I could see the land only 50% of the time. There was travelling fog banks so it was sometimes sort of clear and other times very foggy. 120 mag going out and 300 mag coming back.Posted by bob davis

Today I downloaded html-kit and Kompozer. Not bad. I want to try quanta plus because they say the php editing is good but it only runs on linux. I was looking at 2 ways to get it to run on win32. windows.kde.org native port and cygwin kde port. Kompozer is cross platform which is good. Html-kit is win32 only but they have instructions for wine.Posted by bob davis
